Join us for the 6th Annual Flag Run 5K on July 4th, 2025, in the charming town of Boerne, Kendall! This exciting event celebrates freedom and community spirit, encouraging participants to run while proudly carrying a full standard-size American flag. Runners of all ages can look forward to a vibrant atmosphere complete with food, drinks, music, and well-equipped aid stations. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt and a finisher medal, making this event truly memorable.
The day kicks off bright and early at 5:30 AM with setup, followed by a warm-up at 7:45 AM. The fun begins with a 1-mile walk at 8:00 AM, leading into the exhilarating 5K run at 8:05 AM. Awards will be presented at 9:10 AM for the top overall male and female finishers, along with special recognition for those who carry flags. Best of all, proceeds from this heartwarming event will benefit the Boerne Fire Department, helping to fund essential equipment and scholarships for local students. Join us for a day of fitness, camaraderie, and community impact as we celebrate our nation's independence together!

Several years ago, one of the race directors son, Camden, saw his father and his friend gather yearly to do a run on July 4th. The group would get together to run throughout Boerne with American flags. When Camden ran with them he would think, Why not make a 5k out of this? That was the beginning of the Flag Run 5k, and we've been dedicated to making this race happen ever since. Within the last few years, this event was made possible through all of our helpful sponsors, racers, and the community as a whole. Last year $10,000 was donated to the Boerne Fire Department. We were able to give a scholarship for $2,500 to a high school senior to go to fire school. This year, the proceeds will go to the Boerne Fire Department to provide equipment and a scholarship for next years senior class. These items are not always able to be paid in the departments budget. The 4th of July to Camden represents freedom and he wants to do his part in helping those that keep us free.
