Get ready to kick off 2026 with an exhilarating experience at the 6th Annual Mangum Marathon and Half Marathon, taking place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the scenic town of Ellerbe, Richmond County, North Carolina. This exciting event offers both a full marathon and a half marathon, with a 7-hour time limit for the marathon and a 5-hour limit for the half marathon. Runners will enjoy a unique course that begins at the Dog Pen, featuring a challenging climb to Bethel Church at the 22-mile mark for marathon participants.
Every racer will receive a finisher medal, and top male and female runners will have the chance to win custom engraved tumblers and additional awards in various age categories. With water stations and support along the way, participants are encouraged to prepare for the journey ahead. KICK OFF 2025 WITH THE 6TH ANNUAL MANGUM MARATHON & HALF MARATHON.
There is a 7-hour time limit for the marathon and a five-hour time limit for the 1/2.
BOTH EVENTS WILL BE TIMED, WITH FINISHER MEDALS TO ALL THAT FINISH AND CUSTOM ENGRAVED TUMBLERS TO THE OVERALL MALE/FEMALE
EVERYONE GETS A FINISHER MEDAL!

TOP 3 MALE/FEMALE 0-19,20-29,30-39,40-49,50-59,60+
The course will start at the Dog Pen out in the boondocks, outside of Ellerbe, NC. You will run 2-miles, take a right, run 11.1 miles turnaround and run back to the finish. Boston has Heartbreak Hill, the Mangum Marathon has the famous climb to Bethel Church at around the 22-mile mark. For the 1/2, you will turn around at the 6.55 mark and reverse back to the dog pen.
The closest address to the Start/Finish is 869 Holly Grove Church Rd., Ellerbe, NC 28338. THE RACE IS AT THE INTERSECTION OF CARTHAGE CREEK ROAD AND HOLLY GROVE CHURCH ROAD IN RICHMOND COUNTY.

THE COURSE WILL HAVE MINIMAL SUPPORT. Please make sure you are equipped with all needed supplies.
The course will provide water bottled water drop spots throughout the course and two manned water stops at the 6.5mile mark and Half turnaround but make sure to bring what you need! All participants will receive a long sleeve 1/4 zip Technical shirt. Race shirts and medals are not guaranteed on race day for registrations after 1/6 but will be available after race (1 week processing time).
