Organiser's Description
The only race of it's kind, the AIRPORT NIGHT TO LIGHT 5K will take place on the tarmac and runway of Goshen Municipal airport at 7:00 am, Goshen, IN at 17229 Co Rd 42, Goshen, IN 46526. Enter at Gate 7.
We will be running on the airport runway (yes, it will be closed to airport traffic!) as the sun comes up.
Yes, it will still be dark when the gun goes off, but the blue runway lights will light up the two lane wide area to run. The rectangular course is one mile long, connected by 300 feet of turning point and then you head back. Both the tarmac and the runway will be lined with blue lights to guide you. REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICKUP
Friday, October 16 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the airport
Race morning, Saturday, October 17 from 5:30 - 6:45 am.
On race morning, Enter through GATE 7, follow instructions to park and enter into Hanger A where we will all gather.
Walkers are welcome!Strollers are welcome!. Unfortunately, we cannot allow dogs on the runway for this race.
Walk or run, we don't care...just get there for this rare opportunity! We get the Runway for a little over one hour as they support the cause in helping to open up aviation to young people through Stay Indiana.
And, if you just want to see this event and are not interested in running or walking the course for whatever reason, we would love you to be an active spectator as a volunteer for an hour or two. We need help parking, checking people in, food serving, and more.
Entry Fee inlcudes: Custom Tshirt, Professional timing, finisher awards and post race refreshments. You will also have access to the warehouse, where the magic happens- high school kids are learning about aviation.

For most young peoplea career in aviation almost seems untouchable unless you come from a very weathly family who can affort the hundreds of hours of flight training and education that go with that career. This program provides access - an opportunity for hands on experience and time at a local airport!
It's very, very exciting to be part of something that gives the next generation a boost forward into a lucrative career! If you know of teens that are interested in flying, but are not aware of this program, please encourage them to come out to this event and get a private look behind the scenes!
