Get ready for an exhilarating day of fitness and fun at the Alameda Island Running Festival on Sunday, September 21, 2025! Set against the stunning backdrop of Alameda, this vibrant event promises a race distance for everyone, making it perfect for seasoned runners and first-timers alike. The festival will take place at Faction Brewery, featuring a Health and Wellness Expo presented by Alameda Health Systems inside the historic old hanger.
Participants can choose from a variety of race distances, including a half marathon starting at 7:45 AM, a 10K at 8:00 AM, and a 5K presented by Penumbra at 8:15 AM. There’s also a newly added Hella Bae Running 5K and 1-mile shake-out run on Saturday! This chip-timed event encourages runners, joggers, and walkers to enjoy the course, with special provisions for strollers and wheelchair athletes. Plus, with a portion of registrations benefiting the Alameda Education Foundation, you'll be supporting a great cause while enjoying a fantastic day of running! Don't miss out on this exciting celebration of health and community!

THE ENTIRE FESTIVAL WILL TAKE PLACE AT FACTION THIS YEAR WITH THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS EXPO PRESENTED BY ALAMEDA HEALTH SYSTEMS INSIDE THE OLD HANGER.

RACE TIMING AND RESTRICTIONS:
THE ISLAND RUNNING FESTIVAL IS A CHIP-TIMED EVENT. PARTICIPANTS CAN RUN, JOG OR WALK THE ENTIRE COURSE.
JOGGING STROLLERS ARE PERMITTED BUT ARE ASKED TO START IN THE BACK OF THE PACK. WHEELCHAIR ATHLETES ARE PERMITTED BUT DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS AND STREET CLOSURE RESTRICTIONS CANNOT TRAVEL FASTER THAN THE FASTEST RUNNER. NO BIKES, SCOOTERS, SKATEBOARDS OR OTHER WHEELED VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON OUR RACE COURSES. WE LOVE DOGS, BUT THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE NOT SO COMFORTABLE AROUND THEM AND THERE ARE ALSO DOGS THAT ARE UNCOMFORTABLE AROUND HUNDREDS OF OTHER PEOPLE, THEREFORE NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE COURSE OR AT THE FINISH LINE.
We will provide BIKE parking for those of you that prefer to bike to the event. See the race website for more details.

Because of construction this years Half will be two 10k loops around Alameda point with beautiful views of the SF skyline, the USS Hornet and Oakland/Alameda estuary. Don't let the two loops deter you, the course is fast and fast with some unique access to the old Taxiway and scenic landmarks. We will be back to a full loop next year once Central is reopened. All runner will receive a t-shirt, medal and post event food and refreshments -
Island 10K Run
