Starting at Legacy Park, located at 103 W Houston, participants will check in at 5:30 PM before the race kicks off at 6:30 PM. Teams will navigate through clues and challenges, covering approximately 3 miles on foot, as they strive to fill their passports and be the first to cross the finish line.
Expect an evening filled with excitement, creativity, and competition, where prizes await the top three finishers, as well as awards for the best costume and team spirit! Participants are encouraged to showcase their creativity, so don’t forget to come dressed in your most imaginative team costumes. Organiser's Description
The Citys Office of Historic Preservation invites you to face off in the ultimate urban scavenger hunt: The Amazing Preservation Race! The only race of its kind think CBSs Amazing Race but in historic downtown San Antonio. Teams of 4 must follow clues and complete challenges to fill their passports before racing to the finish. The first team to cross the finish line with their completed passport wins! Top prizes include staycations!

WHAT TO EXPECT

The challenges' locations are top secret and spread apart. Expect to run/walk around 3 miles during the event.

Racers may use their cell phones to decipher clues and complete challenges.
*
The clues and challenge locations are based on San Antonios history and architecture.
*
No transportation beyond walking or running is allowed (no scooters, rideshares, etc.)
*
Teams are encouraged to be creative with a team name and costumes!
*
This is a competition! Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers, best costume, and best team spirit. Top prizes include staycations!
DAY OF DETAILS
The race will start promptly at 6:30 pm at Legacy Park at 103 W Houston in front of Pinkertons BBQ. You may arrive by 5:30 pm to check in and prepare for the event. Youll be able to pick up your team gear: a buff for each team member and team bibs. There will be water and restrooms available. Paid parking is available at City Tower Garage, 117 W Commerce. Look for additional downtown parking online: sapark.sanantonio.gov/Parking-Locations
Come prepared with a charged phone, good running shoes, and a unique costume. There is a prize for the best team costume!
