RACE MISSIONThe Always Wear Your Seatbelt Foundation invites you to join us in raising seatbelt safety awareness at our upcoming 2023 “Lace-Up to Buckle-Up” 5K Walk/Run. This is our annual fundraiser and 100% of the net proceeds go towards our furthering our mission. The AWYS mission is to save lives through raising awareness and educating teens to Always Wear Your Seatbelt, if not for yourself, for Laura & Eddie. Our foundation was founded in memory of Laura Grant and Eddie Culberhouse, who lost their lives in a tragic car accident on February 6, 2011. If you are joining us virtually, to guarantee that you receive all your race items by race day (t-shirt, bib), you must register by October 1, 2023! If you register after October 1, 2023 we cannot guarantee your race packet will be received before race day.
RACE T-SHIRTSRace t-shirts are guaranteed for all pre-registered participants.
RACE DAY AWARDSThis race will award the top Overall male and female finisher + the top 3 in each group listed below broken out by gender:13 & UNDER,14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & OLDER
FAQ's:
Is the 5k in-person? Yes! We will be live and in-person, with a virtual option for those who want to participate but can't be with us in Orlando.
Where do I park? Parking is free and available at Cornerstone Charter Academy and surrounding businesses. There is also street parking available.
How do I participate virtually? If you can't be in Orlando for the event, you are invited to select your own starting line, whether it's your neighborhood street, your school track, a treadmill, or another route that suits you.

How long is the course? The 5K is 3.1 miles.
How will I be timed? Yes! All registered in-person runners will be timed electronically.
How will I get results? The results for in-person will be scored and uploaded to the race website that morning. A result link will be sent out the week of the event to all registered in-person participants.
Who gets a T-shirt? Only pre-registered runners who successfully complete their registration and payment processes seven weekdays before the race are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. Race shirts are shipped in accordance with registration completion. All sizes are not guaranteed for registrations after October 9th 2024
What's included in my race packet? All registered participants will receive the official 2024 race bib and t-shirt. Can I transfer my entry to someone else? We have a strict NO TRANSFER policy.
