Set against the stunning backdrop of Hawaii National Park, this exciting event invites runners and walkers of all levels to experience the breathtaking upper elevations of the Big Island. Kicking off at 7:00 AM from the Bird Park parking lot, participants will begin their journey at an elevation of around 4,000 feet, making their way up the paved road through the enchanting Koa forest.
Choose your own distance as you tackle this scenic route—aim for the top, approximately 10 miles away, or simply enjoy a shorter trek. Whether you're in for a leisurely stroll or a challenging round trip of 20 miles, the event offers a generous 4-hour time limit to complete your chosen distance. Aid stations will be available along the way to keep you fueled, and delicious snacks will await you at the finish line. With free registration for B.I.R.R. members and a $10 donation for non-members, this is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors while supporting a wonderful community event. BIG ISLAND ROAD RUNNERS WILL HAVE A FEW AID STATIONS SET UP ALONG THE ROUTE AND SNACKS AT THE BOTTOM FOR WHEN YOU FINISH.
