This exciting event kicks off with packet pickup and race day registration starting at 7:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 212 South Rutherford Street, Wadesboro, NC. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a casual walker, the Bearcat Pride 5K offers a fantastic opportunity to get active while supporting the Anson High Cross Country Program.
This year marks the 4th annual race, and participants can look forward to a great course filled with community spirit! Online registration is available until noon on Friday, May 9, with a special early registration deadline on April 27 to secure a FREE t-shirt. Race day registration will be $30, or just $15 for students aged 8-18. After the race, enjoy refreshments, awards, and camaraderie behind the church. Come rain or shine, bring your family and friends to experience this vibrant event while supporting the local youth athletes. Don’t miss out on a day filled with fun, fitness, and community pride!

Packet Pickup and race day registration for the Bearcat Pride 5K will beging at 7:30 am at the First Presbyterian Church 212 South Rutherford Street Wadesboro, NC US 28170
You can register on-line until 12:00 noon on Friday. Race day registration will be available.

The Bearcat Pride 5k will help support the Anson High Cross Country Program. This is the 4th Year of the race. Great course! Great Event!
Deadline to register and receive a FREE t-shirt is Sunday April 27, 2025. Online registration ends Wednesday May 7th. Race Day Registration will be $30. $35.00 on Race Day. Students 8-18 is only $15.00. Great family event.
Race will be held rain or shine!
Packet pick-up will start at 7:30 a.m. on race day! Packet pick-up and bathrooms will be located behind First Presbyterian Church. Water and snacks will be provided after the race behind First Presbyterian Church. Awards will be given out soon after race ends also behind First Presbyterian Church.
The Bearcat Pride 5k will help support the Anson High Cross Country Program. Last season, the Anson Bearcats Cross Country program grew to 20 runners. For the first time in over 15-years, the Anson Bearcats fielded both boys and girls teams and competed at the Rocky River Conference Meet and at Regionals.
For the upcoming fall season, the Anson Bearcats will host meets at home and we will host the Mid-West 2A Regionals in Dodson, NC. Yes, we will host the Regionals in Dodson, a few miles west of Mt. Airy.
The new Anson Middle School is being built next to Anson High School. Once completed, we aim to construct a cross-country course connecting the two schools.
