Organiser's Description
Dear Friends,
This year marks the 41st running of the Kuyahoora Kicker Running Club's fabled BEER AND CHILI RUN/ WALK. We will be happily hosting a brisk (at times too brisk!) run in the country side of the Kuyahoora Valley. After which we will celebrate running, friends and life in general with a spirited post-run party. Here is a summary of the Beer and Chili schedule:
-8:30 "Day of" registration begins at the Masonic Temple in Newport. Those pre-registered are still encouraged to check in. Shirt pickup will also be available at the Temple..
-10:00 The start of the Run/Walk. Walkers, 5K runners and 10K runners will all launch all at once from the bridge. If you have medical concerns related to COVID or do not feel comfortable in a small crowd, please feel free to start a little earlier or a little later. Our event isn't really a race, so who cares. We are partially dog friendly. If you are willing to run/walk toward the back of the pack, your dog is welcome. However, your furry friend will not be allowed to attend the party in the Temple (sorry).
-Our famous "water" station will be located at the 5K turn around. Expect friendly service and quenching treats.
-For those on the speedy side, medals will be given to the top male and female in the 5K and 10K.
Long sleeve cotton Beer and Chili shirts will be available for purchase through RunSignUp. ***We can guarantee delivery of these shirts on the day of the event only, but ONLY if you have signed up prior to the cut off date.*** The cost breakdown is as follows: $15 to participate if you don't want the shirt, around $35 if you do want the shirt. Again, just be sure you're signed up using RunSignUp by MIDNIGHT, JANUARY 15TH.***. No shirts will be ordered after the event.
We thank you for supporting our event. For many of you, this is not your first Beer and Chili experience. Each year we raise several thousand dollars- ALL of which goes to local charitable organizations (after the bills are paid).
