When you support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County, youre not just participating in an event youre joining a movement! Together, we are empowering the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers. Research shows that under-resourced children and youth who have volunteer mentors and support services are far more likely to attend school regularly, thrive academically, exhibit healthy behaviors, build nurturing relationships, exude high self-esteem, and graduate from high school with a plan for the future.
Your support and the support of others help our children achieve great things! Through one-on-one mentoring relationships with caring adults, we empower children ages 6 19 to dream big, build resilience, and unlock their full potential. Moreover, our support services strengthen our mentoring with social and emotional learning, academic enrichment and tutoring, career and college readiness programming, summer camps, a Learning Resource Center, and family engagement activities.
