Do you need a Kentucky race with a gracious time limit on a relatively flat course? This is for you!!!
Course will be a .5 mile out and back at the Elkhorn City Community Center walking path, grounds, and surrounding streets. Personal lap counter and rubber band system will be utilized for counting. You may check in to log a time if you chose to do a fixed distance such as a Marathon, 50K, ect. or you may log total miles.
Please be prepared to provide your own food and drinks. We will have bottled water and some snacks available.
The walking path and streets are lit, but we still strongly suggest having some form of light for added safety, especially during the early morning hours.
About the race name...Bull Elk are defined by their horns which are also called "Racks." A 5x5 is called a "Raghorn", 6x6 is called a "Royal", 7x7 is called an "Imperial" and an 8x8 is called a "Monarch."
About the area...Eklhorn City is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky with the Russell Fork and big Sandy River flowing through the center of the city. It is also the easternmost incorporated municipality in Kentucky.
