Organiser's Description

Please join us for the first Black Creek Paddle Battle and Fun Float! On October 19th, 2024 you will paddle 6.92 miles from Indian Ford inside Jennings State Forest to the Middleburg Boat Ramp on Main St. Come to compete or just spend the morning paddling for a great cause. We will be donating all the proceeds from this race to Jennings State Forest to help clean up of the north fork of the creek. North Fork Black Creek starts in Keystone Heights and flows north towards Middleburg then turns back southward into the forest. There are 4 launch sites in Jennings and we would like our future events to include even more of our local creek.
There will be awards for 1st overall male and female as well as 1st male and female in each of these three categories: Kayak, Paddleboard, and Canoe. Everyone who participates will get a medal!
To keep the cost low and the donation high we will not have shuttles. You will be responsible for transporting yourself to the starting point. We encourage all participants to join the Facebook event group and make connections with others to carpool. Participants will launch in waves and paddle at their own pace to the boat ramp where we will have awards and refreshments.
