Join us for the vibrant Blue Ribbon Glow Run on Friday, April 17, 2026, in Trenton, Dade! This exciting event, designed to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month, invites participants of all ages to come together for a fun-filled evening dedicated to making a difference in our community. The 1-mile run, walk, or crawl will take place on the track surrounding the Dade County High School football field, with gates opening at 8:00 PM and the race kicking off at 9:00 PM.

The first 500 registrants by March 14th will receive a complimentary Blue Ribbon Glow Run shirt, and while registration is free, donations for additional shirts are encouraged to support this important cause. Kona Ice will be available for purchase, with all proceeds benefiting Dade First-Family Connection. Come dressed to impress in your glow-in-the-dark attire, and help us shine a light on preventing child abuse and neglect in our community!

APRIL IS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH. THE BLUE RIBBON GLOW RUN IS TO RAISE CHILD ABUSE AWARENESS. DADE FIRST-FAMILY CONNECTION AIMS TO HELP FAMILIES MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE YEAR-ROUND THROUGH SMALL ACTS THAT HELP PROTECT CHILDREN, STRENGTHEN FAMILIES, PROMOTE TRAITS THAT HELP PROTECT FAMILIES, AND ULTIMATELY, PREVENT THE ABUSE AND NEGLECT OF CHILDREN.
THE BLUE RIBBON GLOW RUN WILL BE A FREE EVENT AND PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND FAMILIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. THIS IS A 1 MILE RUN/WALK/CRAWL.

STATISTICS: As of 2019, the state of Georgia's reported rates of child abuse were 2.2 per 1000 children, and child neglect rates were 2.0 per 1000 children. In that same year, Dade County's reported rates of child abuse were 2.9 per 1000 children, and child neglect rates were 2.6 per 1000 children. Dade County has had a trend of being consistently higher than the state average every year. That's not including the fact that only 30% of abuse is reported. WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
