Event summary
Join the Brattleboro Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 28, 2024, for an exhilarating and community-driven event in Brattleboro, Windham! This beloved annual tradition, running since 1977, invites participants to embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving by enjoying a scenic 3-mile run along Upper Dummerston Road. For the little ones, a fun 1-mile kids' race kicks off the festivities! With a strong emphasis on community, this free race is entirely volunteer-run and donation-funded, encouraging all runners to preregister by 5 p.m. on November 27 to secure their bib and timing.
Get ready to gather with fellow runners and walkers at the Brattleboro Country Club, where check-in and bib pickup will take place from 8 to 8:45 a.m. on race day. Remember to dress warmly, as the Thanksgiving morning air can be brisk! Strollers are welcome, but please leave your furry friends at home. The event supports local causes, with proceeds benefiting Groundworks Collaborative and the Vermont Foodbank, making it a perfect way to give back while enjoying a morning of fitness and fun. Donโt miss out on this delightful celebration of health and community!

Organiser's Description
FREE RACE run annually since 1977! This is the Red Clover Rovers' gift to Brattleboro-area runners, celebrating moving in the fresh air and joining together as an active community. Come run the classic annual 3-miler on Upper Dummerston Road (1-mile kids' race beforehand!). The race starts and ends near the Brattleboro Country Club. This is 100% volunteer-run and donation-funded, so there is no race-day registration! Please register below by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.
As usual, there's no entry fee, but you must preregister to get a bib and be timed. Also, we're asking participants to consider making a donation. Proceeds, after expenses, will go to Groundworks Collaborative [https://groundworksvt.org/] and the Vermont Foodbank [https://www.vtfoodbank.org/].
Check-in and bib number pickup is Thanksgiving morning from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Please be on time to check in, as we sometimes have more than 300 participants. Give yourself a few extra minutes to navigate the busy Country Club parking lot! (Also dress appropriately, as it may be COLD!)
Strollers are welcome; no dogs please. The road will be open, so runners/walkers need to keep to the left and be aware of traffic.
Race director: Jennifer Smith
