Welcome back for the eighth year of The Plastic Surgery Foundation's Close the Loop 5K! The Close the Loop 5K brings together plastic surgeons, patients, and the public in an effort to raise awareness and funds to support breast reconstruction charitable care and research.
Breast cancer is a devastating disease, affecting approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States. Breast reconstruction is a very personal choice every woman should have access to her options before she has to make a decision. Profits generated are awarded to organizations focused on awareness and assistance efforts of women fighting breast cancer or pursuing breast reconstructive surgery. Thanks to the BRA program, The Plastic Surgery Foundation has allocated 188 grants, totaling over $2 million in awards.
This year's 5K will take place in New Orleans, LA on Friday, October 10th, at 7:00 AM PST during Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2024 [https://www.plasticsurgerythemeeting.com/registration]. We believe that every woman deserves to be fully informed and empowered to make the best decision for herself following a breast cancer diagnosis. By participating in this event, you are supporting our mission to close the breast cancer loop by providing comprehensive information about breast reconstruction. You can register as an individual, join an existing team (no limit on team size), or register as a team captain and start your own team. Every participant will receive a race t-shirt and an participation medal. -

By participating in this event, you are supporting our mission to close the breast cancer loop by providing comprehensive information about breast reconstruction. This year's 5K will continue to be hosted BOTH in-person and online. You can register as an individual, join an existing team (no limit on team size), or register as a team captain and start your own team. Every participant will receive a race t-shirt and an participation medal. Register before Sept. 10 and receive your Race Swag Bag before Sept. 28. Virtual Registrations received after September 10th will receive race packages after PSTM24.
