Join us for the Cancelled Race Support Group: Fundraiser and Community Run, taking place from August 24th to August 30th, 2026, in the beautiful Anacortes, San Juan. This uplifting event aims to bring together the running community in support of wildland firefighting efforts during a challenging wildfire season.
Participants can choose to engage in a virtual run or join the in-person community run on Saturday, October 10th. Registration is just $10, with every dollar going directly to support organizations like Watch Duty and the Wildland Firefighter Foundation. For every mile you run during the week of August 24th to August 30th, an additional $1 will be donated, up to $2000 total!

All paces are welcome, and whether you're running solo or joining the community event, your participation makes a difference. BUMMED ABOUT YOUR RACE GETTING CANCELLED? WANT TO HELP SUPPORT WILDLAND FIREFIGHTING EFFORTS?
Many communities in Washington and beyond have faced the impacts of a very strenuous wildfire season. Race companies all around, including Evergreen Trail Runs, have been forced to cancel races and run clubs due to poor air quality and wildfires burning across their courses. This hit us hard when we had to cancel Kachess Ridge in its inaugural year and Mad Meadows on only its second year.
Despite the cancellations, we wanted to give our running community the opportunity to come together for an event anyways. So with that, we'd like to announce the Cancelled Race Support Group; a community event and wildfire relief fundraiser! This event aims to give back to all the hard working individuals out there fighting fires as well as give thanks for our trail running community that has supported ETR during these tough times.
Sign up for a virtual run and in person community run where all $10 of your registration will be donated to either Watch Duty [https://www.watchduty.org/?utm_source=watch-duty-app] or the Wildland Firefighter Foundation [https://wffoundation.org/]. For the virtual run, an additional $1 will be donated to either Watch Duty or the Wildland Firefighter Foundation for every mile ran between Monday, August 24th and Sunday, August 30th. We will donate up to $2000 between the two organizations. You can choose to donate additional dollars to these organizations upon sign up as well.
On Saturday, October 10th, we will host an in person community run. This run will serve as an opportunity to come together as a trail running community, run with like-minded people, and reflect on the tough season we've all endured. All paces welcome and participation in this part of the event is not required to do the virtual part (although we'd sure love to see your shining face there)! The location is TBD so keep an eye on your email for more info after you register.
We will send out a reminder email to registrants on Sunday, August 23rd to start tracking your miles with a link to a form to submit.
