This exciting event is designed for young runners of all skill levels, featuring a variety of race distances including the 50-Yard Dash for ages 2 and 3, the 100-Yard Dash for ages 4-6, and the timed Quarter Mile Run for ages 7-14.
Participants will not only enjoy the thrill of racing but will also engage in age-appropriate discussions focused on the theme of OPTIMISM, fostering social-emotional growth alongside physical fitness. Each participant will receive a finisher medal, a swag bag, and a weekly progress report to celebrate their achievements. Plus, there’s a special post-race egg hunt to add even more fun! Join us for a fantastic month of running, self-improvement, and community spirit, where every stride counts and every accomplishment is celebrated! SPRINT into Spring! Join me on the TRACK at Winston Campus in Palatine for our Spring Running Series! KIDS WILL ENJOY A POST RACE EGG HUNT AFTER 1 OF THE RACES!
In addition to the physical benefits of running, the program aims to build social-emotional skills. The Cardio Kidz environment is great for the seasoned runner and also those who may never run before. We will focus on the word OPTIMISTIC this spring in age-appropriate discussions before each race and will track weekly progress to promote goal setting and increase self-confidence. The emphasis of this series is on self-improvement vs. competition with others. We realize that accomplishments look different for everyone, and it is our goal for every participant to make big strides and have FUN while doing so!
Races that are offered are as follows:
50-Yard Dash: Ages 2 & 3
100-Yard Dash: Ages 4-6. *Heats will be separated by age
Quarter Mile Run: Ages 7-14. *Heats will be separated by age. *This race will be timed; results will be sent in a post-race email.
Pricing: $35 registration fee includes: Finisher Medal, Swag Bag, 3 Weeks of Races, 3 Racing Bibs, Weekly Progress Report, Goal Tracker Sheet & POST RACE EGG HUNT (date of that TBD.)
