WE ARE KICKING OFF THE CHAMBER'S HEALTH & WELLNESS WEEK

We are excited to kick off The Chamber's Health & Wellness Week, the perfect opportunity to explore the area's amazing health-focused resources! Over 80 businesses from Bluffton and Hilton Head Island are participating, offering a wide range of health and wellness specials, activities, and free experiences for you to try. Whether youre just starting out or continuing your health journey, this week is packed with opportunities to find what works best for you.

MORE THAN JUST A 5K

It all starts with the WAVES TO WELLNESS 5K - but it doesn't stop there! Join us for a morning dedicated to discovering the best health and wellness options our community has to offer! Businesses from Bluffton and Hilton Head Island will be showcasing their services and products, giving you a firsthand look at how they can support your health journey. From fitness and nutrition to holistic care and wellness products, this is your chance to explore new options, connect with local experts, and kickstart a healthier you.





WHAT MAKES THE WAVES TO WELLNESS 5K SPECIAL

* A 5K RUN / WALK - Professionally timed & scored with awards to the top finishers - _we are rooting for ya!

* THE COURSE - AMERICA'S # 1 BEACH - The 5K starts and finishes at the Tike Hut. It is entirely on the HARD + FLAT + WIDE beach at low tide. Plenty of room to run, walk, wiggle, or giggle your way through the 5k distance. The natural beauty of the Island's beach will provide beautiful scenery the entire way (keep an eye out for dolphin too).

* LOCAL HEALTH & WELLNESS BUSINESSES - This will be the largest and most diverse gathering of our local health & wellness businesses. You will have the opportunity to visit and learn about your local healthy opportunities, participate in demonstrations, and enter to win free prizes - all in a convenient and fun atmosphere.

* THE POST RACE PARTY - We are planning a full morning of healthy fun at the Tiki Hut. We've got live music, hot & cold beverages, healthy snacks and lots of local health & wellness businesses showcasing their products and services and leading fun activities.

* KIDS 12 - UNDER ARE FREE - Bring the entire family because all kids 12 - Under participate for free. _Don't forget the dog needs exercise too - we are dog-friendly.

* BLING-BLING - Beautiful custom t-shirts, custom finisher medals for participants of all race distances, and other really cool swag.

* GIVING BACK - We are partnering with the Island Recreation Center and a portion of the proceeds will benefit them.

* FUN - The Waves to Wellness 5K race organizers realize enjoyment is often on equal footing with performance, so expect to have a good time all around.

We are awarding the Team with the greatest number of members! So, round up your crew and get ready for the first 5K of the year! Its not about being the fastestit's about not letting your friends outpace you! We'll be giving out special TEAM awards so make sure to get all your squad involved.

Form a team, show up, and let's make some memories (and probably a lot of questionable fitness decisions) together!

5K COURSE

DESCRIPTION - The WAVES TO WELLNESS 5K promises the best that Hilton Head has to offer when it comes to running. Youll be running on Americas #1 beach (HARD + FLAT + WIDE) with ideal temperatures. Our 9am start means there will be plenty of sunshine at the start line - and, the dolphins will guide you as you run along the beach course.

START / FINISH - All races start and finish oceanfront at the Tiki Hut. All runners and walkers will take out on the beach for a course that heads South - then North (past the start) - continue North - then South again to the finish.





AVERAGE TEMPS ON RACE DAY

Average temperatures in January are lo 40s / hi 60s. Expect a sunny and cool / mild morning on race day.





AWARDS & RESULTS

Awards will be given to - Male & Female Top 3 Overall; Top 3 Male & Female in Age Divisions: 19-Under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-Over

We expect the awards ceremony to begin ~ 10:20am @ the Tiki Hut.

Award winners must be present to receive their award - awards are not mailed.

Preliminary Results will be emailed to participants 20secs after their finish
