This race will continue to honor the memory and legacy of Greg Deaton. His favorite verse was Philippians 4:13, which says, "I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Our race is grounded in this standard. Greg was a pastor with New Salem Baptist Church and the camp director for the Laurel River Baptist Association. Greg's legacy reaches well beyond those two positions. He wore many hats and was many things to people far and wide. Greg loved the Laurel Lake Baptist Camp and what it stood for. He loved telling people about Jesus. The goal of this race is to honor Greg while ultimately glorifying God and promoting + benefitting the camp that he loved so dearly. Please join us for a time of remembrance, fun, and fellowship!

This will be our fourth race at the camp (2020, 2021, 2024, 2025). We first did this race back in 2020 & 2021 to help the camp get through COVID. We are glad to be able to come back together to glorify our Lord and bring attention to this wonderful place that we call church camp. This year we pushed the race date into December so we're throwing in a Christmas theme! Christmas at the Camp. There will be Christmas themed decorations along with hot cocoa and cookies. We encourage you to dress up in a Christmas outfit to run the race in if you wish!

There will once again be a road race, trail race, and kids fun run. Running OR Walking is permitted for the road race and kids fun run. Child care will be available. Volunteers will have fun activities prepared for your children while you are running your race. We will have swag bags and t-shirts available for registrants while supplies last. First come-first serve. Awards will be given out to top place finishers. In person registration will start at 8:30 am.

The majority of proceeds will go to Laurel Lake Baptist Camp. A small percentage will go to the Laurel River Baptist Association camp week.
