Join us for the vibrant and inspiring Chunky Monkey Epilepsy Run on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, in the charming town of Blanchardville, Lafayette. This exciting event honors the memory of Mathias Lee Koch, affectionately known as "Chunky Monkey," while raising awareness for epilepsy. Participants can choose from a challenging Half Marathon, a fun 5K run/walk (both in-person and virtual options), a 1-Mile Walk, and a delightful Kid's Run, ensuring there's something for everyone in the family!
The Half Marathon kicks off at 9:00 AM, featuring a scenic 13.1-mile route that promises hilly thrills and beautiful views. For our youngest runners, we have a series of Kid's races, starting with the Diaper Dash for toddlers, followed by 100-meter and 400-meter dashes for older children. The 5K race starts at 10:00 AM and takes participants on a delightful 3.1-mile course. Don't forget to bring a blanket to support our annual Blanket Drive, aimed at providing comfort to families in need at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The Chunky Monkey Epilepsy Run features a Half Marathon, 5K (In-Person & Virtual), a 1 Mile Walk (not timed) and a kid's run.
Registration is open online until Nov. 3rd at Midnight, register before Oct. 14th to guarantee a shirt. We will stop collecting shirt sizes after the 14th.
_BLANKET DRIVE_
Our mission is to provide comfort to families at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the American Family Children's Hospital every year. This year, our goal is to bring comfort to 200 families, and we appreciate the compassion you have shown toward this cause.

START TIMES: 9:00 AM
This will be the 5th year for the Half Marathon event! If you love hills, this half marathon is for you! Enjoy a hilly, scenic, challenging (did we say, hilly), and beautiful 13.1 mile course. Be ready for HILLS--seriously! The time limit for the Half Marathon will be 3 1/2 Hours. Approximately 16-minute miles
There will be water/Gatorade stations @ miles 2, 4.5, 7, and 10 &11. Portable Restroom: 3.5 & 6.5/7.5,10
_KID'S RUN_
START TIME: 9:30 AM
_DIAPER DASH_
CHILDREN 0- 2 YEAR OLD: RACE WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE 9TH FAIRWAY. DISTANCE IS APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET.
100 METER DASH
3-4 year age group: The race will take place on the 9th Fairway following the 25 M Dash.
5-7 year age group: The race will take place on the 9th Fairway following the 3-4 year olds.
_400 METER DASH_
8-10 YEAR AGE GROUP: THE RACE WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE 9TH FAIRWAY FOLLOWING THE 100 M DASH.
_5K RUN/WALK _
START TIME: 10:00 A.M.
Follow the ranger around this delightful 3.1 mile course.
There will be no water stations this year, please bring your own water.
_5K VIRTUAL RUN/WALK_
START TIME: ANYTIME DURING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 31-NOVEMBER 2, 2024
This is a new event for those not able to attend the actual race, but still lend your support. You can find your own 5K course and time yourself. Afterward, you submit your time on the race results website to share with others. Times will be processed into standings with other virtual run participants. No awards will be sent.
