JOIN DR. ASSAR RATHER, COLORECTAL SURGEON AND ADRIANNE FISHER NP FOR THE FIRST ANNUAL COLORECTAL CANCER AWARENESS 5K. COLORECTAL CANCER IS A LEADING CAUSE OF CANCER DEATH IN THE UNITED STATES AND IS HIGHLY PREVENTABLE THROUGH SCREENING AND EARLY DETECTION. MARCH IS NATIONAL COLORECTAL CANCER AWARENESS MONTH AND OFFERS US AN OPPORTUNITY TO EDUCATE THE COMMUNITY ABOUT PREVENTION, EARLY DETECTION, AND RISK FACTORS FOR COLORECTAL CANCER. ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL BE DONATED TO THE CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY DELAWARE, WHICH IS A WONDERFUL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT OFFERS SUPPORT GROUPS AND OTHER PROGRAMS AT NO COST TO PATIENTS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS. THEY STRIVE TO ENSURE THAT ALL PEOPLE IMPACTED BY CANCER ARE EMPOWERED BY KNOWLEDGE, STRENGTHENED BY ACTION, AND SUSTAINED BY THE COMMUNITY.
