Choose from two thrilling race distances: the 5K, which is limited to 250 participants, and the 10K, capped at 75 participants. Both races start at Crozet Park, winding through rustic trails filled with roots, rocks, and breathtaking views. The day also features a Family Fun Run, perfect for young adventurers, where kids under 7 can join for free with a registered adult. After crossing the finish line, celebrate with a delicious pancake breakfast, live music from Susie and the Pistols, and local beverages from Starr Hill Beer and Henley’s Cider. Organiser's Description
The race is a major fundraiser for the Crozet Trails Crew [https://crozettrailscrew.org/], a grassroots community organization whose mission is to simply connect Crozet and Western Albemarle with trails and greenways.
All registered participants will get a race t-shirt and pancakes at the pancake breakfast! Improved timing this year for the 5K and 10K.
The 5K COURSE IS LIMITED TO 250 PARTICIPANTS! The race starts in Crozet Park (on festival grounds by pavilions) and continues on the Crozet trail to the east of the Park (rustic trail, so plenty of roots, rocks, and ruts), and finishes back at Crozet Park. Prizes will be awarded for overall male and female: first, second and third (first place male and female get a bridge named in their honor!)
The 10K TRAIL RACE IS LIMITED TO 75 PARTICIPANTS! It loops by Lickinghole basin, crossing Lickinghole creek (you might get your feet wet) we're currently fundraising for a 50 foot bridge to connect the trails here. IF YOU CAN PLEASE DONATE TO HELP WITH THE BRIDGE. The race goes out by Chesterfield Landing and back.
The FAMILY FUN RUN is a shorter option that still gets you out on the trails. The course starts in Crozet Park and goes by the dog park. After the bridge, turn left on a recent extension of trail (~.75-mile) and back to the park. This section will eventually connect the trail to downtown Crozet. Kids under 7 years old can participate in the Family fun run for free if they are accompanied by a registered participant. Well behaved, leashed dogs are also welcome.
JOIN US FOR A POST RACE TRAILS FEST FROM 11AM - 1PM at the finish. Including PANCAKE BREAKFAST- MADE FROM SCRATCH! We'll have LIVE MUSIC FROM SUSIE AND THE PISTOLS, STARR HILL BEER, HENLEY'S CIDER, COFFEE FROM YELLOW MUG. All of the proceeds go to Crozet Trails Crew.
ON-SITE REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP takes place at Crozet Park on race day at the Crozet Park Pavillion from starting at 9am until 9:45am. There will also be packet pick-up Thursday, October 22 at Starr Hill in Crozet from 6:30- 830pm. IF YOU WANT TO SWITCH RACES PLEASE COME TO THURSDAY PACKET PICKUP TO LET US KNOW.
