Event summary
This year, we are thrilled to announce that Mary Lou Donuts, a beloved local favorite since 1961, will be our new cupcake sponsor, adding a sweet twist to the race! Participants are encouraged to register early, especially since medals and race shirts must be ordered by August. Don't forget to join in on the fun with our School Participation Contest—teachers, students, and school employees can represent their schools for a chance to win a traveling trophy! Mark your calendars for packet pickup on Saturday, September 21, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mary Lou Donuts. Lace up your shoes and be part of a fantastic community event that celebrates education and health!
Organiser's Description
We are thrilled to share that Mary Lou Donuts, a community staple since 1961, will be our new cupcake sponsor! We're very excited to start building new race traditions with this long-time local favorite. Many thanks to Purdue University College of Education for being our cupcake partner as well. It's been great to see so many representatives from the College of Education participate in the Cupcake Run for so many years. We greatly appreciate their support.
Please note that inventory for medals and race shirts is set in August, so register by then to guarantee your receipt.
SCHOOL PARTICIPATION CONTEST: If you are a teacher, student, or school employee, please indicate as such on your registration, as well as what school you represent. The school with the most participants will receive a traveling trophy. Help out your school and get as many friends/coworkers to participate and win that trophy!

Bike Rider (Course Monitor)

CLOSEDBike riders are needed to lead the 10K and 5K participants through the race course. The lead bikes stay in front of the leaders for each race and help clear the course by announcing that the race leaders are approaching. Please provide your own bike. Bike riders also loop through the course at the end to help monitor the progress of the last participants and communicate with the volunteers. -
Course Marshal

CLOSEDCourse marshals are needed to help direct the race participants at turns and intersections in the race course. Volunteers will be issued safety vests and stop signs (for those at road intersections). The police department will assist at the busiest locations. -
Check In

CLOSEDCheck-in volunteers are needed the morning of the race to check-in runners. You'll need a cell phone so that you can download a free app to check in participants. Check-in volunteers also pass out bibs, shirts and goody bags to the participants. -
Finish Line

CLOSEDFinish line volunteers help pass out medals, delicious Mary Lou cupcakes, water, and refreshments. Some also will assist the race director with timing. -
Sweeper

CLOSEDThe Sweeper walks behind the last participant, following the course a second time to follow behind the last 10K participant. In other words, the sweeper walks a 10K. They make sure the course is cleared and lets other volunteers along the race course know that the last participant has passed. -
Water Stop

CLOSEDWater stop volunteers will staff water stations at the points along the race. They are responsible for set-up, passing out water, monitoring inventory, and clean-up. -
Kids Run Volunteers

CLOSEDSeveral kids' runs are held at the beginning of the race, broken out by age group. Volunteers are needed to help corral the kids into their age groups, play games while waiting for the race to start, and cheering them on when it's their turn to run. -
