Hardware Hills Vineyard is hosting a charity trail run and walk that explores the entire property of the vineyard, including a pathway to the adjacent historic Hardware River.
COME ENJOY A JOURNEY THROUGH THE HILLS, DOWN TO THE RIVER, AND THROUGH THE VINES.
DATE: RESCHEDULED Saturday, January 17, 2025
TIME: Dash begins at 10:30 a.m.
LOCATION: Hardware Hills Vineyard, 5199 W River Rd, Scottsville, VA 24590
DISTANCE: The run portion of this event is approximately 5K (3.1 miles). The walk portion is approximately 1.1 miles. As this is a fun run/walk event, participants are not required to complete every portion of the run if they choose.
REGISTRATION: Online in advance at runsignup.com or race day registration
COST: $50/45/30/30 pre-register (T-SHIRTS GUARANTEED FOR PREREGISTERED BY NOV. 29)
$50 on day of event -- no guarantee on t-shirt
THE COURSE: This is a somewhat challenging trek through the Hardware Hills property that includes an inclined gravel drive, grassy hills beyond the cottage and estate home, a sloping drop down to the river and back, and then winding through much of the vineyard past the sleeping winter vines. The dash concludes at the tasting room where a food truck will be on hand and wine will be available to participants over 21 years old.
Water (and wine for those registered for the wine run) before during and after the dash will be available.
DONATIONS: Hardware Hills is proud to partner with the Monticello Area Community Action Agency in our efforts to feed the hungry this season. Please consider adding a donation to your registration. Canned goods are also welcome to be dropped off on race day. We appreciate you helping support our local community!
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
* Comfortable running/walking clothes appropriate for the weather.
* Sturdy shoes for trail trekking.
* Holiday spirited attire is welcome and encouraged!
WHAT NOT TO BRING:
* Pets! We love them... but this day could be hectic with animals on the course.
* Strollers or other wheeled items. Our course would make anything with wheels difficult to maneuver.
* Outside alcohol. Per Virginia ABC law, no outside alcohol is allowed on Hardware Hills property.
*EVENT CANCELLATION: There is NO rain/ice/snow date. In case of inclement weather, management reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the race/course for safety concerns. In any case there will be No Refunds of race entry fees. Race insurance is offered if you would like to secure it in the event you cannot participate.
Each athlete must accept any such risk of their entry fee paid. T-shirts will be available for participants who registered within the shirt guarantee window. There is no complimentary race entry to a future race. All monies collected are used to develop and produce the event, including all race supplies, staffing, and administration. We pledge to make every effort to produce a fair, safe and exciting event for all. Any decision we make to go forth with the race is based on the overall event safety.
