Set against the stunning backdrop of Coligny Beach on Hilton Head Island, this vibrant community event aims to promote exercise, wellness, and healthy habits among students and families across Beaufort County. Participants can choose to support their favorite school as they join in the excitement, with the top three schools earning wellness funding prizes for their participation.
The event features two thrilling race distances: the main 5K race starting at 9:10 AM and a special .5 Dash for elementary students aged 7 and under, kicking off at 9:00 AM. With race shirts guaranteed for those who register by April 25, 2026, and medals for the top three finishers in each age division, there are plenty of incentives to lace up those running shoes. District Dash 5K
The Beaufort County School District (BCSD) is excited to host the District Dash 5K on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach, Hilton Head Island. This community event is designed to promote exercise, wellness, and healthy habits across all schools.
Event Overview
Students, families, and community members are encouraged to participate alongside their school groups. When registering, participants can choose which school they are supporting. Families with students at multiple schools may select more than one.
The top 3 schools with the most overall race participation will receive a wellness funding prize to support their schools MUSC Wellness Program.
0.5 DASH for Elementary Students ages 7 and under: A new half-mile race just for elementary school participants. Registration required. Start time: 9:00 AM.
Brooks Marathon Kids Partnership: Elementary schools using the free Marathon Kids tracking program through PE, recess, or running clubs can log miles throughout the year. Students who complete a full marathon (26.2 miles) during the 202526 school year will be recognized at District Dash. The school with the most Marathon Kids participants will also receive a portion of race proceeds as a wellness donation.
Buddy Run/Walk: High schools with a Buddy Club for exceptional students are invited to highlight partner pairs during the event.
