Get ready for a fantastic morning of fitness and community spirit at the Downs Freedom Run on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in beautiful Downs, McLean! Kick off the festivities with a gun start at 8:00 AM and choose between two exciting options: a flat and fast 5K course or a leisurely 1-mile walk. The 5K route winds through the heart of our vibrant community, where you'll be cheered on by enthusiastic spectators, making this an event you won't want to miss!
Not only will you enjoy a fun-filled day, but you'll also be supporting local initiatives, as all proceeds from the Downs Freedom Run are reinvested in our community. Over the years, this event has helped fund improvements like a new drinking fountain at Dooley Park and grants for local businesses affected by Covid-19. Plus, participants have the chance to earn awards for overall male and female winners, as well as the top three finishers in each age group. Don’t forget to register by June 16th to secure your event shirt. Join us for a day of camaraderie, health, and celebration as we run together for a greater cause!

Join us the Saturday BEFORE the 4th, for a fun morning with friends! Gun start at 8:00AM.
New to the Downs Freedom Run? Enjoy one of the flattest 5k courses in the area, with a route that runs through our community with cheering spectators to greet you along the way. Get festive and be ready to have a fun morning - this is one you dont want to miss! We will finish the 5K and 1 mile walk course with a lap around the high school track.
As always, any Downs Freedom Run proceeds are re-invested in the local community. Over the years we have installed a new drinking fountain/water bottle refill station at Dooley Park; provided grants to local, small businesses struggling from Covid-19 impacts; supported the Downs 4th of July celebration; as well as provided support for other causes that help our village. We'd love to share miles with you and support the community together!
Must register by June 16th to be guaranteed a shirt.
