Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving with a bang at the 2nd Annual Dripping Springs Turkey Trail Trot, taking place from November 27 to November 28, 2025, in the scenic Dripping Springs, Hays. This exciting event features a range of races to suit all ages and fitness levels, including a fun-filled kids 1K (0.6 miles), an invigorating 5K (3.1 miles) trail run, and a challenging 10K (6.2 miles) trail run. For those who can’t be there in person, a virtual option is available to ensure everyone can join in the festive fun!
On Thanksgiving morning, pack your enthusiasm and join fellow runners as you earn your well-deserved pumpkin pie! The event kicks off with packet pick-up on November 26 at Ranch Park Playground, followed by the kids' race starting at 9 AM, the 10K at 9:30 AM, and the 5K at 9:45 AM. CLOSEDThis 1k fun run is an incredible loop passed the bird viewing deck and around the Pond. It is on trails and sidewalk, so be prepared, though it's less technical than the 5k. There is a bit of a downhill on the way out and a small climb to the finish. Kiddos must be aware of their speed near the pond. There will be one water station half way along the course and one just before the finish. -
5k Trail Run

CLOSEDThis is a grand tour of the trails at Ranch Park. The course includes single track with some technical terrain, a few climbs and a few rocky sections. The course is incredibly diverse, so please enjoy the beauty of the course. Be sure to pay attention to the rocks and roots on the trail. You'll be moving through trees, grass, paved sections, and rocks. Most importantly, have fun! Trail running shoes are recommended, but you can do the race with any running shoe. -
10k Trail Run

CLOSEDThe 10k is two times around the 5k course. The course will be well marked, but as a note, when the 5k folks turn right to the finish, you will continue straight and link up with your 2nd loop. This is your encouragement, opportunity, and accountability to get your buns moving for Thanksgiving!! You have from very early Thanksgiving Day until 11:59pm Friday to run and submit your results. Get out there, have fun and run/walk your 5k before your start your T-day festivities!
