Participants can choose between two race distances: tackle the Short Race with 2 laps (approximately 10 miles) or challenge yourself in the Long Race with 4 laps (around 20 miles).
But there’s a twist! You can enhance your race time by playing cornhole—sink a bag and shave a minute off your finish. With a mix of terrain that’s been expertly crafted for maximum enjoyment, this event promises not just a race, but a full winter trail party! Expect campfires, delicious jambalaya from food experts Jason and Melissa Sherman, and refreshing beer from Bare Bones Brewery. On-site check-in starts at 8:00 AM, with the mass start kicking off at 10:30 AM. Join fellow riders for a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and fun, all while supporting trail building and maintenance in the Lakeland Area.

The Fatathlon is backand this year were bringing our Fat Bike + Cornhole Biathlon to LAMBOs brand new Sucker Springs Single Track in Conover, near Eagle River, Wisconsin. Our trail crews have been dialing in the course so its fun, rideable, and race-worthy, with a mix of terrain and longer, wider sections for passing.
Heres the twist that makes the Fatathlon a true crowd favorite: you can improve your time with cornhole. Youll throw bags before and after your ride, and each bag sunk in the hole takes 1 minute off your race time. Strong rider? Great. Good hand-eye coordination? Maybe even better. Either way, its a surprisingly perfect way to level the playing field and keep the day light, competitive, and fun.
