Organiser's Description
Parkinson's Disease is a a progressive neurological condition characterized by tremors, slow movement, muscle rigidity, and impaired balance, caused by the loss of dopamine-producing brain cells, which leads to difficulties in controlling movement. There is NO CURE.
Approximately 90,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with Parkinson's disease each year.
Christin, along with her family, founded this race in 2020 after losing her father to a 25yr battle to Parkinson's disease.
Rock Steady Boxing (RSB) is a boxing-inspired, non-contact exercise program designed for people with Parkinson's disease, focusing on improving strength, balance, and overall quality of life. The program provides a supportive community and uses a variety of exercises like boxing drills, stretching, bicycling, and jumping rope to condition participants and help manage symptoms. RSB offers a safe, challenging environment where people can fight back against the disease, build confidence, and find connection with others.
100% of proceeds are going directly to Rock Steady Boxing.
