Join us for the 8th Annual Friends of the Poor Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin, Texas! This uplifting community event features a 1-mile walk to benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, coinciding with the Feast Day of St. Vincent de Paul. Your participation will help raise essential funds to support those in need within our community, such as families facing financial hardships from job loss or unexpected expenses.
Check-in begins at 8 AM, and the walk kicks off at 8:30 AM, followed by a presentation at 9:15 AM to learn more about the impactful work of the Society. Enjoy breakfast, fellowship, and the chance to win exciting door prizes starting at 9:30 AM! You can choose to walk in person or virtually, and for those who want to show extra support, feel free to repeat the 1-mile course. Don’t forget to order your event T-shirt before August 31st! Come out and make a difference while having fun with friends and family!

Organiser's Description
1 mile walk to benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church in Austin TX on Saturday, September 26 (Feast Day of St. Vincent de Paul is September 27). This is our 8th Annual Walk. Your donations will enable us to raise additional funds so we can help those calling for financial assistance. They need help paying the rent or the light bill. They may have been unable to work due to illness, experiencing lost/reduced work hours or had an unexpected expense. Walk in person 1 mile with us or repeat the course to walk additional miles to show your support for our cause to serve the poor! You may also walk virtually at any time or place of your choice. After the walk, we will have breakfast, fellowship and fun. Check in starts at 8 am. Walk starts at 8:30 am. At 9:15 we will have a presentation to hear more about the work of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Our door prize drawings will start at 9:30 am. Must be present to win.

We will start the Walk at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, head to Gracywoods Neighborhood Park and continue the trail back to our campus. After the walk enjoy breakfast, fellowship/fun and door prize drawings. Thank you for walking with us. -
