Join us for the exciting Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Wright State University in Fairborn, Greene! This vibrant event, presented by Dayton Children's Hospital and Synchrony, is designed to inspire young girls to embrace their joy, health, and confidence through a unique experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Participants will have the opportunity to run alongside their adult buddies, who provide invaluable support and encouragement as they tackle this empowering challenge.
This year, the event features a 5K race starting at 1:00 PM, with an early bird registration fee of just $25 available until November 8, and $30 thereafter. Additionally, a fun half-mile run will kick off at 12:30 PM for those who may not be ready for the full distance. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, and all 5K participants will receive a fantastic race day giveaway—a Girls on the Run branded reusable tote bag! Come out, support our girls, and be part of a community that champions limitless potential and dreams. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate health and positivity!

THE FALL RENDITION OF THE GIRLS ON THE RUN 5K WILL RETURN TO WRIGHT STATE UNIVERSITY. GIRLS ON THE RUN IS AN INCREDIBLE PROGRAM THAT INSPIRES GIRLS TO BE JOYFUL, HEALTHY AND CONFIDENT USING A FUN, EXPERIENCE-BASED CURRICULUM WHICH CREATIVELY INTEGRATES RUNNING. GIRLS ON THE RUN STRIVES FOR A WORLD WHERE EVERY GIRL KNOWS AND ACTIVATES HER LIMITLESS POTENTIAL AND IS FREE TO BOLDLY PURSUE HER DREAMS.
AS MANY OF YOU KNOW, OUR GIRLS ON THE RUN PARTICIPANTS TRADITIONALLY RUN ALONGSIDE AN ADULT RUNNING BUDDY. THE JOB OF THE RUNNING BUDDY IS TO PROVIDE ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO THEIR GIRL AS SHE TAKES ON A GREAT CHALLENGE. YOU CAN HELP OUR GIRLS FIND THEIR HAPPY PACE AND SHARE IN THE MAGIC OF HELPING HER CROSS THE FINISH LINE. ALL 5K PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE A RACE DAY GIVE-AWAY, THIS YEAR IT IS A GIRLS ON THE RUN BRANDED REUSABLE TOTE BAG.
BACK THIS YEAR, WE ARE CONTINUING A FUN RUN. THE HALF-MILE FUN RUN WILL START AND FINISH AT THE SAME START FINISH LINE AS THE 5K. IT WILL START AT 12:30. THIS RACE WILL NOT BE TIMED, BUT WE WILL RUN THE CLOCK FOR PARTICIPANTS TO SEE THEIR TIME. IT IS OPEN TO ANYONE NOT QUITE READY TO TAKE ON THE ENTIRE 5K.
