GLEANERS COMMUNITY FOOD BANK is excited to announce the 2ND ANNUAL HUNGER FREE SUMMER 5K RUN AND WALK! With the support of our incredible community, Gleaners continues to work toward our mission of creating a food-secure Southeast Michigan.
When school is out, many children lose access to the meals they rely on, but the Hunger Free Summer campaign helps bridge that gap. Gleaners can provide 3 meals for every dollar donated. Thanks to a match from Citizens and other generous donors, for every dollar raised through run registrations or donations, Gleaners can provide six meals to families facing hunger.
Please join us as we race toward a food-secure community on SATURDAY, JUNE 20, 2026, at Freedom River in Brighton, Michigan.
PRICING:
5K RUN/WALK early registration including shirt $30 until 6/07, then $35 with limited shirt sizes available. $40 on race day with no shirt.
1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK early registration including shirt $25 until 6/07, then $30 with limited shirt sizes available. $35 on race day with no shirt. (please note the 1 mile run/walk is an untimed event)
AWARDS: Running Lab gift certificates to the Overall Male and Female finishers and Overall Master Male and Female Winners. Awards to the top 3 in age groups (male and female) 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

RESULTS: The race will be professionally timed by the MICHIGAN RUNNING FOUNDATION. Results are live during the event and posted on this website.
