DETAILS: Join us for an early morning annual Memorial Day weekend run or walk in memory of Scott Procopio who was killed in action 16 years ago in Ramadi, Iraq. Run/Walk distance options include: 5K, 10K, 1 Mile Walk and a Kids Fun Run. _EACH OF THE LAST 5 YEARS THIS_ _EVENT HAS CONTINUED TO RAISE MORE THAN $25K/YEAR TO BE ALLOCATED TO HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS FURTHERING THEIR EDUCATION. _

Packet Pickup/Race Day Reg: Opens at 6:45AM at Saugus Center in front of the Town Hall. Packet pickup is on race day ONLY.
Course: Choose from a 5K, 10K or 1 Mile Walk.
The 5K and 10K courses are a mix of flat and rollers with one good size climb. All distances start at the same time, intersect and split at different points and all fuel stops will have water and electrolytes.STROLLERS AND DOGS ARE WELCOME.
Kids Fun Run Course: This 1/4 mile Kids Fun Run is targeted for those 10 and under starting at 7:45am. Pre-registered kids will be guaranteed a t-shirt. Their run will circle the shutdown rotary and will finish under the High5EM finish archway on Taylor St. IF YOUR CHILD IS 10 & UNDER AND WISHES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 5K OR 10K AND DO THE KIDS FUN RUN PLEASE SIGN HE/SHE UP IN THE 5K/10K SO THEY RECEIVE A RACE TIME.
1 Mile Walk: Walkers will receive all the race accolades without having to run.
SWAG: Participants will receive custom designed race bibs and finisher medals. Shirts will be guaranteed to those pre-registered by 5/10.

More about Scott: Scott was on his second deployment as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, having previously served in Fallujah in 2005. He was killed in action as a result of a roadside bomb on the morning of April 2, 2006 in Ramadi, Iraq.
Beneficiary: 100% of the event proceeds will be allocated to CPL Scott J. Procopio Memorial Scholarship program to provide high school seniors with academic scholarships.
