Get ready for an exhilarating day of adventure and competition at the Montgomery Whitewater Golden Hour Races on Labor Day, September 1st, 2025! Set against the stunning backdrop of Montgomery, this exciting event features three fantastic races: the Golden Hour 5K, River & Trail Triathlon, and Lil' Tri, catering to participants of all ages and skill levels.

Kicking off at 7:00 AM, the Golden Hour 5K is a professionally timed race that invites runners and walkers alike to navigate a picturesque course through Montgomery Whitewater's scenic grounds. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in various age groups, making it a perfect challenge for everyone looking to test their limits.

Following the 5K at 8:00 AM, the River & Trail Triathlon offers an adventurous experience for young athletes aged 12 to 17. This multi-sport challenge includes a one-mile run, a 1.5-mile bike ride through enchanting wooded trails, and a thrilling 2,200-foot paddle down the creek channel. Participants will receive a race t-shirt, medal, and a fun tie-dye bandana to commemorate their adventure!

GOLDEN HOUR | 5K | SEPT. 1ST | 7:00AM
The Montgomery Whitewater Golden Hour 5K is a professionally timed event open to runners (and walkers!) of all ages and abilities. The unique course will take runners through the beautiful grounds at Montgomery Whitewater, with both start and finish at the Main Pavilion Breezeway Entrance. Awards will be given to the top finishers and 5-year age groups.



GOLDEN HOUR | RIVER & TRIAL TRIATHLON | SEPT. 1ST | 8:00AM

The River & Trail Tri is an adventure race presented by PT Solutions [https://ptsolutions.com/]. This race is designed for 12- to 17-year-olds who want to take on a multi-sport challenge. Participants will complete a one-mile multi-terrain run, a 1.5-mile bike ride through our wooded trail system, and a 2,200-ft low-flow paddle through the creek channel.

Built as the next step up from the Lil Tri, this race features longer distances and more technical terraingiving young athletes a true taste of adventure racing in a natural environment.

Montgomery Whitewater will provide all of the equipment needed for the kayak paddle portion; however, athletes will need to bring their own bike and helmet.

Please note that this race is not timed. Overall, 1,2 and 3rd place finishers will be announced. All participants will receive a race t-shirt, medal, and bandana to tie dye.



GOLDEN HOUR | LIL' TRI | SEPT. 1ST | 9:00AM

Montgomery Whitewaters Lil Tri puts a fun spin on the traditional triathlon by challenging young athletes to run, bike, and PADDLE across the finish line, presented by Montgomery, Prattville, Pike Road Pediatric Dentistry & Family Orthodontics. [https://smilesfromus.com/] Open to kids ages 6 to 11, Lil Tri consists of a 370-yard flatwater paddle, 704-yard bike ride, and 880-yard run.

Montgomery Whitewater will provide all of the equipment needed for the flatwater paddle; however, athletes will need to bring their own bike and helmet. Kids ages 6-10 must have an adult in the ducky (inflatable kayak) for the water portion of the race. 11-year- olds may paddle on their own.

Please note that this race is not timed and there will be no official winner announced. All participants will receive a race t-shirt, medal, and bandana to tie dye.



IMPORTANT: To receive a race t-shirt, you must register by Wednesday, August 20th.

Race packet pick-up is on SUNDAY, AUGUST 31ST, under the Montgomery Whitewater Park Pavilion from 1:00 PM TO 4:00 PM.

_*Races will be held rain or shine. All efforts will be made to finish the scheduled events. However, in the event of extreme inclement weather that prevents us from conducting the races safely, there will be no refunds.*_

No flip flops or Crocs allowed. River & Trail Tri athletes are invited to Montgomery Whitewaters Golden Hour Festival on Sunday, August 31st to tie-dye their bandanas for the race! The tie-dye station will open at 1pm. Tie-dying race bandanas is free for registered athletes. Additional t-shirts and bandanas may be purchased for friends and family to join in the fun! All participants will receive a race t-shirt, bandana to tie-dye and medal. Race t-shirt sizes and availability are not guaranteed for those who sign up after August 20th. WNDC 10% Discounts- Wednesday Night Ducky Club discounts offered to all registered participants.
