Join us for the 38th Annual Grafton Run for the Roses 5K on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the picturesque Grafton Lakes State Park in Grafton, Rensselaer. This exciting event kicks off at 9:00 a.m. with a thrilling 5K race that takes you on a scenic course, starting on the Park Entrance Road, weaving along Route 2, and looping back through the beautiful park along Long Pond Road. The course features a mix of downhill and uphill terrains, providing a fun challenge for runners of all skill levels.
In addition to the 5K, young athletes can participate in the Kids 1 Mile Fun Run starting at 10:00 a.m., which takes them through the enchanting woods and along the beach. With water stations, mile markers, and a festive atmosphere, runners will enjoy a supportive environment as they race towards the finish line under the Race Banner. All participants will receive ribbons and books, fostering a spirit of participation, while awards will be presented immediately following the race. Organiser's Description
The 38th Annual Run for the Roses will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Grafton Lakes State Park, Route 2, 12 miles east of Troy, N.Y. The 5K Race begins at 9:00 a.m. The Kids 1 mile Fun Run will begin at 10:00 a.m.
The Course
The 5K Race course follows the Park Entrance Road, continues along Route 2, around the Town Park and back into the Park on Long Pond Road. The first half of the course is downhill, with uphill slopes on the second half. Water stations are near the half point. Mile markers and split times will be available. The Race finishes under the Race Banner.
The Kids 1 Mile Fun Run begins in the main parking lot, proceeds through the woods and along the beach. The Fun Run finishes under the Race Banner.
