This event honors the remarkable life of Dr. Grant Crawford, a dedicated scientist, leader, and beloved community member who tragically lost his life in a car accident last year.
Participants can look forward to a fun and meaningful day, with a race entry fee of $50 that will directly support the Grant Ira Crawford Memorial Fund. Fundraising efforts will also engage current employer and alma mater teams, highlighting the top four finishers from each team. On race day, all participants will receive a technical tee with the inspiring slogan "Be More Like Grant". Grant Crawford Memorial Run
Merck Animal Health will sponsor a 5 km run/walk the morning of Wednesday, April 8th with a 6:30 am start time. Grant Crawford was an exemplary husband, father, colleague, friend, scientist, leader, and runner whose life ended in a tragic car accident last spring. Dr. Crawford was a co-chair of the Midwest Consulting Nutritionist Forum and an active participant in the Plains Nutrition Conference. This inaugural race will be continued for years to come.
Race entry fee will be $50 plus a small online processing fee; the $50 entry fee will be donated directly to the Grant Ira Crawford Memorial Fund established by the Crawford family. Additional donations can also be made through the site.
The race will be a timed event with top individual three male and female runners recognized at the end of the race. Additional fundraising efforts will also be made for current employer and alma mater teams with the top four times for each team competing against other teams.
Participants will also receive a race day technical tee sponsored by Merck Animal Health with the slogan Be More Like Grant. Packet pick-ups will open at 6:00 am, the morning of the race.

Packet pick up will occur the evening before (Tuesday, April 7th) at a reception with details to be updated soon and on race day at the race site starting at 6am.
PACKET PICK UP FOR VIRTUAL RUNNERS: Merck Animal Health employees participating in the virtual race can pick up t-shirts at the livestock meeting April 28th May 1st.
If you are a non Merck Animal Health employee choosing the virtual option as you can't make the race, please contact Lee-Anne Walter directly to obtain a t shirt via mail.
