Get ready for an exhilarating day of fun and fitness at the Greatest 4th in the North on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in beautiful Lake City, Missaukee! This vibrant event features three exciting race distances: a 5k, a 10k, and a 2k Fun Run, making it perfect for runners of all ages and skill levels. The fast and flat 5k and 10k courses will take participants along the stunning shores of Lake Missaukee and through the charming streets of downtown Lake City, adorned in patriotic decorations for the holiday. For the youngest athletes, the 2k Fun Run offers a delightful opportunity to run through Missaukee County Park and along the scenic beach boardwalk.
Join us for a day of community spirit as all proceeds from the event support our local Lake City Trojan students and athletes through the Lake City Boosters. Race check-in and packet pickup will take place on Friday, July 3, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and on race day, Saturday, July 4, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM, just north of Forest Area Federal Credit Union. Come out to support our local Lake City Trojan students and athletes! All proceeds from this event go directly to Lake City Boosters.
The 5k and 10k courses are fast, flat routes winding along beautiful Lake Missaukee and through downtown Lake City decked in its patriotic finest! The 2K Fun Run welcomes participants of all ages, especially the littlest racers to run through Missaukee County Park and along the beach's boardwalk.
Don't forget to plan on joining us afterwards for the Fourth of July parade downtown!
RACE ROUTE & REGISTRATIONS CHANGES: Due to some major construction work right in downtown this summer, our race route must be altered a bit from previous years. Registration will also not take place at the city park area. It will take place just north of Forest Area Federal Credit Union, 101 Main St, Lake City, MI 49651. Apologies for the inconveniences, but with the building projects, our typical check in and finish area cannot be as usual. We hope to return to that area in Summer 2027!
