Event summary
Get ready for an exhilarating weekend of trail running at the Hobo Trail Runs, taking place on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in the beautiful Machesney Park, Winnebago at Rock Cut State Park! This event features an exciting range of races including a challenging 10K, a scenic 25K, and an intense 50K. Runners can also opt for the ultimate challenge with the Triple Crown, completing all three races for a total of 85K, or the “Lite” version covering 60K.
Kick off the festivities with a thrilling evening 10K race under the stars on Friday, September 13, starting at 7:00 PM. Runners will need to be equipped with lights and headlamps, as they navigate the trails in the dark! On Saturday, the 25K begins at 8:00 AM, while the 50K and 25K races will take place on Sunday, also starting at 8:00 AM. Each course promises stunning views and an unforgettable experience for both seasoned athletes and newcomers alike. All finishers will receive unique awards, including the coveted Hobo Railroad Spike for completing the Triple Crown. Join us for this fantastic celebration of endurance

_LOCATION - ROCK CUT STATE PARK_
Choose to do a single events or pick the challenging TRIPLE CROWN ALL THREE RACES 85K or the TRIPLE CROWN "LITE" 60K with the 10k on Friday evening then a 25k Sat. & Sun. FRIDAY NITE'S 10K IS AN EVENING TRAIL RACE. Bring running lights, headlamps, flashlights, etc. Trail will be marked with signage, glow sticks. and reflective markers. This is a trail race in the dark the park closes at 10:00 pm all runners must be finished by 9:30 in order to leave park before closing. Note we did say that the 10k is a trail race run in the dark on trails be sure you have practiced running on trails in the dark so you know what you are setting out to do.
10K will start near the boat launch in Rock Cut State Park, FRIDAY SEPT. 13, - 7:00PM START - RUNNERS must be finished by 9:30 in order to be out of the park by 10:00 - gates are locked.
25K will start and finish at Red Oak picnic area, SATURDAY SEPT. 14, - 8:00AM START - _COURSE IS SUPPORTED FOR 5 HOURS_ on Saturday. _DOING YOUR FIRST 25K? THE COURSE ON SUNDAY IS SUPPORTED FOR 8 HOURS ._
