Organiser's Description

New England's only downhill 5K race. The course drops 224 feet from start to finish. This USATF certified 5K course begins at the Hollis Brookline Middle School in Hollis, New Hampshire. The gradual downhill course travels through beautiful apple orchards, corn fields and vegetable farms, finishing at the junction of Depot Rd. and Rt. 111. The course lends itself to people running a personal best time and for first time racers, a runner friendly course.

RUNNING TIMES MAGAZINE listed this race course as one of the top three fastest race courses in the USA. THE WALL STREET JOURNAL posted an article about this unique race course. NEW ENGLAND RUNNER magazine named this race as their RACE OF THE YEAR FOR 2018.

The race is timed using Chronotrack timing chips and the results will be posted at the race and via iResults.com.

The awards are plentiful for the youngsters with two year age group awards three deep (1st, 2nd & 3rd) for each gender. Our youngster age categories are 9 & under, 10&11, 12&13, 14&15, 16&17, 18&19. The adult age categories are 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 & 80 and older.



PRIZES AND RESULTS FOR 2024 - NEW THIS YEAR. PICK UP YOUR AGE GROUP MEDALS ON RACE NIGHT

OVERALL AND AGE GROUP AWARDS WILL BE POSTED AT ALPINE GROVE by 7:45 pm and will be updated as the timing company prints them. Each runner will receive their results on their cell phone during the same time period. Results can also be found on iResults.com.

OVERALL AWARDS Our awards ceremony will recognize the top three Female and Male fastest times on race night.

AGE GROUP AWARDS will be picked up at our awards tables located at Alpine Grove. Look for signs indicating Male, Female and Under Age 20 awards tables.

AWARDS NOT PICKED UP ON RACE NIGHT can be picked up at Fleet Feet Sports in Nashua beginning Friday, June 14th through and ending Saturday, June 22nd.

UNCLAIMED AWARDS After Saturday, June 22nd the remaining medals will be recycled through our awards supplier. WE WILL NOT MAIL AWARDS IN 2024.



NON-COMPETITIVE TEAM COMPETITION

We are offering our version of Team Competition due to the popularity from last year.

Many runners form friendships and become part of a group. Some runners run for a competitive corporate or running club team, and others run with a social group consisting of friends and family from work out at the gym. We are encouraging groups to join us under a group or team name. There is no timed group competition, but there is a group of team participants competition with a prize of $150.00 for the team or group with the most members.

This is not an award for the fastest team. This gives running club teams, corporate teams and teams consisting of friends and acquaintances an equal chance to win. All they need to do is get people to join or create a team and sign up as team member.

You can sign up while registering but if you previously registered without declaring a team affiliation you can be added to a team by logging in to runsignup.com and following the instructions below:

. Click the "profile" icon (little gray character) and see your name.

. Click the rectangular "Upcoming Events" button and select "Hollis Fast 5K".

. Look to the right side of the page and see the blue colored "Manage Registration" and click on it.

. Next, click on the "Group/Team" header at the top of the page.

. Click on the rectangular button titled "Current Group/Team". A dropdown menu will list the teams who have already registered.

. Click on your team.

. If your team is not listed, click on the "Create New Group/Team" rectangular button and type in a team name.

. You are now officially a member of a team.

    The Hollis Fast 5K race course is New England's fastest downhill 5K. The course drops 232 feet from start to finish. We offer a waived entry to any racer who beats the New Hampshire individual age record. Any finishing time that beats the New Hampshire state record does not count as an official state, national or world record due to USATF rule stating that if the course drops more than one meter per kilometer, it cannot count as an official record. The distance is a USATF certified verified course.
