Join us for the 4th annual Hopson 5K - Give Cancer The Bird on Sunday, October 20th, 2024, in the picturesque Hamlet of Honeoye, Ontario. This vibrant event invites participants to run, walk, or soar through stunning fall foliage along a scenic course that ensures a safe and enjoyable experience, free from vehicle traffic. The majority of the route winds through the beautiful WoodsEdge Retreat and the established trails of Sandy Bottom Park, providing a perfect backdrop for this inspiring cause.
This year, we are proud to support the C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association, which offers crucial assistance to families facing childhood cancer or blood disorders in the Rochester area. After crossing the finish line, participants can unwind and celebrate at Birdhouse Brewery, located conveniently across the street from the start/finish line. Enjoy live music, a complimentary pint of Birdhouse beer, and delicious treats from Dainty Donuts while mingling with friends and family. Don’t miss out on the chance to earn custom-designed finisher medals and be recognized in various award categories. Whether you choose to join us in person or opt for the virtual registration, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

Run, Walk or Soar with us for the 4th annual HOPSON 5K- GIVE CANCER THE BIRD. Located in the Hamlet of Honeoye, you will experience beautiful fall foliage throughout the entire course without the dangers of vehicle traffic. You may have to dodge a few rabbits or squirrels or yield to a fairy or two in Hopson's Forest! The majority of the course is a combination of wide grassy trails through WoodsEdge Retreat [https://woodsedgeretreat.com/] and the established trails through Sandy Bottom Park. If were lucky, our pair of resident Bald Eagles will guide the way. This years beneficiary will be C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association. C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association exists to provide emotional, educational, social, and financial assistance to Rochester-area families whose children have cancer or a blood disorder. Awards will be presented to the 1st place overall female & male finishers, 1st place overall masters male & female and "middle of the flock"
Every finisher will receive a really cool, custom designed, locally produced finisher medal.
Register by September 25th to guarantee t-shirt. After September 25th, a limited surplus may be available.
FOR SAFETY REASONS STROLLERS AND DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE COURSE.
We are also offering a virtual registration option for those of you who physically won't be able to join us on race day. For the virtual option, you choose when and where to run or walk your 5K. We will mail you your t-shirt.
