This exciting race will take place at the Horse Arena at the Tuscola County Fairgrounds in Caro, Tuscola, starting at 10:00 am. Participants can choose between a 5k or 10k distance, with the 5k course winding through the fairgrounds midway and the grand arena, while the 10k runners will tackle the course twice for an extra challenge.
Join us in this celebration of community and health while supporting local youth in the equine program. There's even a special 5k walk for those who want to bring their pups along—costumes are encouraged! The top three best-dressed pups will win trophies, and every furry participant will receive a treat at the finish line. With awards for various age groups and overall winners, plus a 2 1/2 inch medal for all finishers, this event promises to be both rewarding and memorable. Location: Horse Arena at the Tuscola County Fairgrounds, 188 Park Drive, Caro. (Use Pizza Hut in your GPS)
Packet Pick Up: Friday, June 20th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Horse Arena Pavilion and Saturday, June 21st from 8:00-9:30 am
Follow the signs as you enter the fairgrounds
Event Cost: $30.00 (plus processing fee) with tshirt. No guarantee on receiving a tshirt for entries made after Saturday, June 14th.
$35.00 day of event (plus processing fee if using credit card). No tshirt
The 5k course will start at the Horse Arena, run through the fairgrounds midway, midfield of the grand arena, and end back at the horse arena. For 10k participants, the course will be the same; however, you will run the course twice.
** 6/3/2025 Course Map is uploaded into the photos album. Our course plan changed due to other events happening at the fairgrounds.
5k walkers will start a couple minutes after the 5k/10k runners, and are advised to stay to the right side of the course so as not to block runners.
For those entering in the 5k walk- bring your pup in their best costume. The top 3 costumes will receive a trophy. All pups will receive a vanilla ice cream & whip cream pup cup at the finish line.
Awards will be given for: Overall male and female in each 5k walk, 5k run, and 10k run.
Overall youth (12 and younger) male and female in the 5k run.
Top 3 male and female in the 5k walk, 5k run, and 10k run
Top 3 youth (12 and younger) male and female in the 5k run.
Top 3 best dressed pup costumes.
All finishers will receive a 2 1/2 medal with lanyard.
Proceeds benefit local youth in the equine program by providing educational opportunities. A donation will also be made to Cass River Pet Friendz to aid in their fight against stray animal overpopulation.
Results will be posted at the conclusion of the race. Winners will be announced and presented their award.
