Event summary
Join us for the Jarid Taylor Memorial Run on Saturday, July 26, 2025, in Durant, Bryan County, to honor the legacy of a beloved local hero. This uplifting event features a 5K and a 1-mile fun run, bringing together community members to celebrate the life of Jarid Taylor, a dedicated Bryan County Sheriffβs Deputy who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. As we run, we remember Jarid not only for his commitment to public service but also for the joy he brought to his family and friends, as a devoted father and a friend with a great sense of humor.
The event serves as a meaningful fundraiser for the OK C.O.P.S. chapter, which provides essential support to the families of fallen officers. Participants can also look forward to the presentation of the Heart of a Hero award and the Blessed Peacemaker award, recognizing the bravery and dedication of local law enforcement. Come be a part of this special day that not only honors Jarid's memory but also strengthens community bonds and supports those who protect us. Let's run together in celebration of life, love, and service!

Organiser's Description
Jarid was a Bryan County Sheriffs Deputy who lost his life in the line of duty on January 14, 2020. He was in route to a 911 call when he was in a fatal car accident. Although he loved his job, he was much more than a police officer. Jarids greatest accomplishment was being a Daddy to two beautiful children. He loved to deer hunt, watch OU football, and had the best sense of humor. Jarid leaves behind family and friends who loved him dearly who want to always honor and remember him for the wonderful person he was.
