Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun family activity, the 5K race and the Fun Run provide the perfect opportunity to get active while supporting the local Rowlett cross country team.
Starting at 8:30 AM, the 5K will take participants on an exciting out-and-back course around the Rowlett High School campus and through the beautiful Pecan Grove Park. Dress in your favorite holiday attire and join us for a morning filled with cheer, camaraderie, and the thrill of competition. Every 5K participant will receive a finisher medal, and awards will be presented to the top three male and female runners, as well as in various age categories. Get in the holiday spirit and join us for the SECOND annual Holiday 5K & Fun Run; a celebration of fitness, community, and giving back! This family-friendly event is a great way to bring the community together for a fun, festive morning. Whether you're running, walking, or cheering from the stands, your participation supports our local Rowlett cross country team and strengthens the bonds that make our community special. Dress in your favorite holiday gear and hit the course around our high school campus and nearby park! Lets come together, get active, and make this a holiday tradition!
AWARDS
_EVERY 5K PARTICIPANT WILL RECEIVE A FINISHER MEDAL_
* Awards in the 5k to Top 3 M/F Overall and in age groups: 18 & under, 19-30, 31-45, 46-60, 61+
SCHEDULE
7:15 Check-in/Packet Pickup and registration opens. Packets and Registration will be at the entrance to the RHS football field
8:30 5k Run (Starts on the track)
9:30 Fun Run (Starts on the track)
10:00 Awards Ceremony
RACE SHIRT
Everyone who registers by DECEMBER 1ST will be guaranteed a shirt of their selected size. Everyone who registers after December 1st will have the opportunity to receive shirts until stock runs out. Shirts are red Sport-Tek Performance Competitor long sleeve dri-fit tees. 5k sponsors will be printed on the back in white ink.
COURSE & PARKING
The course is combined concrete and field, with some spots being narrow for traffic. We do not recommend a stroller, but if you are up for the adventure the choice is yours! Please, no pets on the courses. It will be an out and back course that starts on RHS campus and goes through the Pecan Grove Park trail behind the Rec. Click the hyperlink on the left side of the menu to view the course.
Parking will be available in the back of Rowlett High School before 8:00am; however, those who park in the back must stay the closing ceremony (approximately 10:30am). Limited parking will also be available in the front of the school close to PGBT.

We will have various vendors from Rowlett High School student groups and food trucks! List of groups coming soon!
