Join us for the fifth annual Jaunt for Justice 5K on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, in the beautiful Roanoke River Greenway at Rivers Edge Sports Complex in Roanoke, Virginia! This uplifting event invites both runners and walkers to come together for a meaningful cause, supporting the Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley. The race kicks off at 8:30 AM, with a special 0.5K fun run for kids starting at 8:10 AM. Participants are encouraged to register by September 20th to guarantee a race t-shirt and enjoy a day filled with community spirit, fun, and philanthropy.
After the race, stick around for the medal ceremony at 9:20 AM and a chance to win exciting raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Each 5K participant will receive one entry into the raffle, with additional chances available for purchase. Whether you choose to run in person or opt for the virtual Jaunt for Justice, your participation will directly benefit those in need of legal services in our community. CLOSEDThe Jaunt for Justice 5K is a 5K run/walk out and back on the Roanoke River Greenway, starting and ending at Rivers Edge Sports Complex - North. Race Packet Pickup will be Friday, October 4th, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Runabout Sports Roanoke. Onsite packet pickup/registration starts at 7:30 a.m. The Kids' 0.5K Fun Run will start at 8:10 a.m. Start time for 5K race is 8:30 a.m. Thank you to Mountain Junkies LLC for providing timing for the Jaunt for Justice 5K Race! We will be raffling some amazing prizes donated by local businesses after the medal ceremony. Each participant in the in-person 5K will receive one entry into the raffle - additional chances can be purchased on the day of the race at the registration tent. You must be present to win! Race route: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2772151 Note: We plan on running the race rain or shine. In case of severe weather, we will postpone the race until the weather has passed. For the safety of our participants, we will only cancel the race due to natural causes, terrorist attacks, flooding, or other things that will would put the safety of the runners or spectators at risk. If we have to cancel an event, we would defer your entry for the next year or allow you to run virtually. -

CLOSEDIf you want to participate in the Jaunt for Justice 5K and support the Legal Aid Society, but are unable to be there in person, join the Virtual Jaunt for Justice 5K! Pick your own 5K route, and run or walk along with other participants. You can, if you wish, submit your time on the race website upon completion of your run. Virtual runners will not be eligible for medals. Race Packet Pickup will be Friday, October 4th, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Runabout Sports Roanoke. -

CLOSEDThe Jaunt for Justice Kids' 0.5K Fun Run will be a short (0.31 mile) out and back fun run on the Roanoke River Greenway at Rivers Edge Sports Complex - North. The Kids' Fun Run will start at 8:10 a.m., immediately followed by the 5K. All Kids' Fun Run participants will receive a finisher medal! Race Packet Pickup will be Friday, October 4th, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at Runabout Sports Roanoke.
