Join us for the exhilarating Jim Omohundro Courage Memorial Sundown Rundown on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Eastside Sports Complex in El Paso! This exciting summer night race features a 5k run and a 1-mile walk, perfect for participants of all ages and skill levels. Kick off the evening with early packet pickup on Thursday, July 16, from 1 PM to 6 PM at 9908 Trinidad, or register on race day starting at 6:00 PM. With a registration fee of $27 for early sign-ups and $32 for late registration, you can enjoy a chip-timed experience while escaping the heat of the day.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of this special memorial race, honoring former El Paso Police Officer Jim Omohundro, who dedicated his life to serving the community. Participants can look forward to impressive awards, including large medals for the top three finishers in each age division, ranging from 10 and under to 61 and over, plus a stylish Under Armour dry-fit shirt for the first 300 registered runners. The race kicks off at 8:00 PM, and every racer will receive a beautiful participant medal. Don’t miss

This years race will be at the Eastside Sports Complex, a great opportunity to run in a night time road race!!!!!
EARLY PACKET PICKUP IS THURSDAY 7/16/26 1pm-6pm at 9908 TRINIDAD
ONLINE REGISTRATION ends at 10PM on 7/16/26, LATE REGISTRATION will be at the starting line on 7/17/26 beginning at 6:00pm, cost is $27. Late registration cost is $32 and we can accept cash, credit, or check. This is a summer NIGHT road race held at the Eastside Sports Complex. Perfect to get out of the El Paso heat with this summer NIGHT race!!! Very nice awards, in fact you will not find better medals at any other El Paso race!!!! Nice large medals to the top 3 finishers in each age division. Age divisions are 10-Under, 11-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-Over T- Shirts to the first 300 Registered runners!!! NICE UNDERARMER DRY-FIT SHIRTS!!!! for the 1st 300 registered runners. If you would like to pick your race packet up early you can pick it up Thursday the day before the race at 9908 Trinidad, or you can pick to up on Friday at the race. RACE WILL START AT 8:00PM

THIS RACE IS A MEMORIAL RACE SPONSORED BY THE OMOHUNDRO FAMILY. JIM OMOHUNDRO IS A FORMER EL PASO POLICE OFFICER WHO PASSED AWAY YOUNG DUE TO COMPLICATIONS FROM INJURIES HE SUSTAINED WHILE ON DUTY. THE RUN IS MEANT TO HONOR JIM OMOHUNDRO LIFE, AND LEGACY WHILE ALSO BENEFITING YOUTH IN THE AREA.
