J. L. Mann High School Key Club will host our third Race for a Reason, a 5K Color Run/Walk at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at J. L. Mann High School. We are joining forces this year with the Student Council Group at our school during spirit week for their campaign to raise money for Emerson Rose Heart Foundation and beat Greenville High, our rival school. The Emerson Rose Heart Foundation assists infants born with congenital heart defects and their families. The four core areas on which the Emerson Rose Heart Foundation focuses are as follows: improving quality of medical care for children with congenital heart defects; providing support to children and families impacted by congenital heart defects; funding research grants in areas such as heart transplant early rejection detection in order to improve outcomes; and AED / CPR training in schools and communities.

Money raised will directly support The Emerson Rose Heart Foundations missions, which are making a huge difference in the lives of children with congenital heart defects in the Upstate of South Carolina. On average, 170+ CHD children are born in the Upstate each year, and 20 percent of those children will not see their first birthday. Your support will impact CHD children in Greenville County, as well as throughout the entire Upstate!

The cost to register is $10. You can also purchase a 5k shirt for an additional charge. Shirts have been ordered. There are some extra available on a first come basis! Just reach out if you are interested.
