Organiser's Description
The race will start from Fairhaven Park, where you'll begin with a nice warmup and a gradual climb and descent towards the Bellingham Interurban trail. One on the Interurban Trail, you'll then head south towards the north entrance of Larrabee State Park. That's where the fun really begins, and you start the climb toward the first ridgeline. At the top, the 12k runners then turn around and head back towards the finish line. The 25k and 50k course continues, taking you along a winding forested singletrack. The 25k then continues along the Lost Lake Trail while the 50k course begins a long descent to Old Samish Rd. After a stop at the aid station, the 50k runners then climb back up to enjoy a lap around Cedar Lake and views from Chuckanut Mountain before rejoining the 25k course.
The smooth single track will then take runners past Lost Lake, where the 25k and 50k courses split up again. The 25k runners will head straight up to the ridge to enjoy an amazing, fun descent down Ridge Trail and back to the Finish Line. The 50k runners will head down towards Lost Lake Parking area and onto the Interurban Trail, running north before beginning another climb up Cleator Road and then Two Dollar Trail past beautiful Fragrance Lake. Expect a rugged and steep climb to the ridge after Fragrance Lake. Then take a breather and get a snack at the aid station before (finally) flying down Ridge Trail and back to the Finish Line.
