Get ready for an exciting day of fun and fitness at the LCRC Youth event taking place on Saturday, June 20th, 2026, at East Mesa Sports Park in Las Cruces, Dona Ana! This vibrant event is the second in a thrilling series designed specifically for kids aged 14 and under, providing them with a fantastic opportunity to enjoy an active and social summer. Participants can look forward to four FREE one-mile fun runs throughout the summer, where they'll not only get to exercise but also have a chance to win amazing prizes like t-shirts and more!
Join us at 9 AM for the race kickoff, where kids will check in, receive their bibs, and gear up in their race t-shirts. The friendly atmosphere will have everyone lined up at 8:50 AM for warm-ups and race instructions. With a supportive team guiding them along the usually out-and-back course, each child will be cheered on as they cross the finish line. After completing the run, participants can easily check their finishing placements and claim their prizes, making for a memorable day filled with joy and camaraderie. This event is the 2nd in a series of events over the summer!
The Las Cruces Running Club Summer Youth Program is a great opportunity for kids 14 and under to have fun, get some exercise, and win prizes, all FREE !!
Want your kids to have an active and social summer? The Las Cruces Running Club Summer Youth Program is a great place to start! With 4 FREE one-mile fun-runs scheduled throughout the summer for all kids 14 and under, and tons of great prizes such as: t-shirts, and other prizes. Your kids are sure to have a great time!
RUN DAY INSTRUCTIONS: RACE STARTS AT 9 AM
CHECK-IN - arrive early enough to check-in, receive bibs (wear on the front of your shirt), and a youth t-shirt (for new runners... previous race runners, please wear your shirt)
START LINE- line up at 8:50 am for race instructions and warm-ups
RUN THE COURSE - Usually an out-and-back, workers will assist along the course
FINISH LINE-Participants will receive a stick with a number indicating their finishing placement
* Take "stick" to check-in tent,
* Find the line that your finish placement falls between (ie line marked as "31-60", if you have stick #36)
* Show the line attendant your stick number
* Hand in your bib (This is how we keep our under control)
* Write the finish time on your stick (you keep the stick as a way to see your improvement race to race and over the years)
* Then move to the prize section under the tent to receive your prize.
RESULTS AND PHOTOS will be posted on this site ASAP... no results will show for individuals not completing the procedures above.
