Step back into the grit and glory of the Old West at the legendary Leadville Boom Days International Pack Burro Racewhere modern-day miners (you) and your burro charge straight into history. Held in the heart of Leadville at over 10,000 feet, this iconic race is the second jewel in the sports Triple Crown and a cornerstone of Colorados mining heritage.
On race morning, teams thunder down Harrison Avenue before climbing into the rugged mining district on Leadvilles east sideretracing the footsteps of prospectors who once raced to stake their claims.
This isnt just a raceits a test of partnership, grit, and stubborn determination. You and your burro must move as one, carrying traditional mining tools and earning every step across high-altitude terrain shaped by history and hardship.
