Join us in spreading awareness and support during National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month this September! While the Let the Light In 5K event, organized by New Ways Counseling Center, has unfortunately been canceled for this year, the spirit of the movement continues to shine brightly. Originally scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, in Trenton, Levy, this uplifting event aimed to bring the community together to illuminate the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.
Although we won’t be gathering for the run this year, the message remains clear: it's essential to keep the conversation going, check in on our loved ones, and celebrate the resilience of suicide survivors. You may have noticed we've been quiet about LTLI lately. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, our board has made the hard decision to cancel Let The Light In 2026.
The absence of LTLI does not change the importance of September, which is National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. We are still encouraging everyone to continue talking about the hard things, to check on those who are struggling, and to celebrate the stories of suicide survivors.
LTLI is not just an event. It is a movement working towards a brighter future together. Let the Light In is not going away forever, just taking a break for this year.
Be on the lookout for how New Ways is going to continue spreading light and awareness in September! 💜
